So What Makes A Cowboy Boot Snake Proof?

 Why are Crocs bad?

Crocs have been a popular choice of footwear for decades now. They are oftentimes made from PVC and have a shape that looks akin to a bath shoe. The question on hand then, is why are Crocs bad? For starters, they’re a very low-quality material that can lead to allergic reactions or skin diseases if you wear them regularly. Furthermore, not only do they come at an astronomical price point for the quality of the product, but they also lack the arch support necessary when standing or walking for long periods. This can lead to you having back problems later in life.

In addition, the shape of the clog is not conducive for people who have wide feet. While most people might not say anything about the unique shape of Crocs, it will become very apparent when you consider that they have a shape similar to that of a baby shoe worn by adults on a regular basis. This will often lead to blisters and intense discomfort while wearing your Crocs. Finally, Crocs are not waterproof and cannot be worn in inclement weather. Moreover, you will not be able to wear them if you go out hiking or adventuring as they lack the grip that may otherwise be provided by a more rugged shoe.

Overall, Crocs are simply subpar in terms of quality and it is highly recommended that one looks into other options when shopping for shoes. You might feel like you’re saving money at first but in the long run, you will pay out more money as a result of having to purchase other footwear in addition to the Crocs. This is why we recommend going with another brand such as Merrells or New Balance.

Do Crocs damage your feet?

Many people have seen the icky pictures of overgrown toenails resembling claws on a bird and wondered what the heck is going on. In other words, are Crocs bad for your feet?

The short answer: it depends. There are many factors that can impact how quickly your nails grow out. The good news is that most people don't find Crocs to be inherently dangerous to their toes. However, if you wear them every day, six months later that's not great either! There's a balance between toe growth and footwear design which we'll discuss in detail further down.

Are Cowboy Boots Snake Proof – Are they really work?

If you've been on the internet recently, I'm sure you've heard a lot about how these gorgeous red shoes are not only water resistant but also protect your feet from snake bites. But is it true?

This article will answer all of those questions and more by going over the latest research and answering what really makes a cowboy boot effective against snakes.  It will also be breaking down which pairs of boots make up for being the best and worst for warding off serpents.

So What Makes A Cowboy Boot Snake Proof?

According to a study from the University of Texas at El Paso the boots are really effective at keeping away these slithery predators. The leather and stitching keeps most snakes from getting a good grip on your foot so it makes it harder for them to strike.

In fact, when small, non-venomous snake species were tested on cowboy boots they didn't even try to bite since they couldn't get a good grip. The larger snakes in the experiment had little trouble when it came to gripping the leather soles and did bite quite frequently.

Can Snakes Bite Through Leather Cowboy Boots?

And more importantly, can they bite through a pair of cowboy boots?

The answer to the first question is yes. The second question is much harder to answer, and the reason for that will become evident in this post.

There are various types of snake bites that can range in severity, but I'll focus on two: a venomous snakebite and a nonvenomous snakebite.

Some snakes inject venom when they bite which causes pain and swelling. Other snakes do not inject venom but their teeth might puncture your skin and cause infection instead.

Another factor is the size of the snake.

When snakes are small, their teeth are small enough to allow them to bite through your leather boots. When they grow larger in size, they have larger jaws that necessitate a change in venom type and delivery system.
